Player: The person in control of (usually the creator of) the character(s).

Non-Player Character (NPC): A support character who may either be behind the scenes, thus assumed and not played, or may be played rarely by their creator, thus not requiring a full PC status.

Player Character (PC): A character that is role played regularly and comes complete with description and background.

Canon: Role play in the world as it is represented in the books.

Off-camera: An event that has occurred IC'ly (in character) but was not roleplayed on the forum.

On-camera: Any event that is actually roleplayed on the forum.

Powerplay (or powerposing): Any action/pose that forces a specific action onto another character without giving that characters player a choice. For example: Briel picks up the pie and smashes bubbly all over Calysta's face. (this does not give Calysta any choice). Briel picks up the pie and throws it towards Calysta's face (this gives Calysta's player the choice to get smacked in the face with bubbly or to duck).

God-modding: Assuming the role of the GM/Staff/Admin and informing players of what they can and cannot do as well as making decisions regarding role play in the place of a GM/Staff/Admin. whether topic specific or gamewide. No one is going to know what the GM/Staff/Admin will approve or not approve unless they specifically ask those people.
