THE PERN RPG POLICY

If you can't say anything nice,
Don't say anything at all

Yes, we've all heard that from one or the other of our relatives. It is a policy that is being put in place here and it includes the staff/GMs as well as the players.  This does not include role play itself. Only the real life/real time out of character items.

Defining 'negative OOC' all of which are posted in public on the forum itself: 
A post that is derogatory, negatively criticizing another player, topic, or role play.
A post that purposely causes player(s) to go on the defensive, or upsets that player or other players.
A post that, no matter how politely worded, causes an argument to break out on a personal and OOC level.

        The first post that is found as a result of the above definitions will be deleted and a public post will be placed stating why that post was deleted. An email will also be sent to the participants with a warning about future public posts.

        The second time a person posts anything derogatory, inflammatory or negative (ooc only), the post is deleted and the poster is banned for a month, without any prior warning. They will receive an email stating why they have been banned at the time it goes into effect.

        If the person continues to harass or otherwise post ooc negativity, they will be permanently banned from the Pern RPG, no matter how well they rp or what their experience or rank is. 

If you feel you must get your point across to the other player using the words that we feel are negative, we recommend you take it straight to email and keep the game outside of your dispute. We are all here to play a game and have fun.

2.      The Dragonriders of Pern is a registered trademark and is owned by Anne McCaffrey. This game and it's characters belong to Ms. McCaffrey and is operated with her permission.

        If you choose to leave the game, your character(s) become NPC (non player character) and will not be used or adopted out without specific permission from you the player to the staff of PernRPG and to the game itself. You can take your character(s) with you when you go, whether by killing them off, transferring them to another weyr or game or letting them fall into the npc category. The npc characters belonging to any players are not to be role played without specific permission from that player/owner.

        Any role play you have contributed to the game however becomes the property of PernRPG and a part of it's history as it has impacted other characters and players. The role play will not be edited or modified in any way. It will remain as a part of Pern and its history.
